Skinny Drinks! Because Sometime you Need a Cocktail!

Because Sometimes you NEED A DRINK!! 

When the parties hit get your game face on and create these "healthier Cocktails"!! Your sugar won't spike and you will be less likely to have cravings, late night snacking and still be have to be ho ho holly!! Here are some of my favorites!! 

Christmas Cocktails

Have you tried Cranberry LaCroix!! AMAZING!! It makes me feel festive even by itself but add a little clean Vodka and your have a party in your mouth!! Friends will love this one too and have no idea they are drinking a low calorie drink!! Skinny TINI!! 

Skinnygirl cocktails

With this one it's easy.... Chill and POUR!! 
Shake over ice, and strain if feeling DANGEROUS!! 



  • MY FAVORITE COCKTAIL!! (((I need to create a Name))) 

  • 1.5 ounces white Tequila 
  • 3 ounces 100% red or pink grapefruit juice* ( I squeeze 1/2 fresh)
  • 2 ounces club soda or seltzer
  • 1 lime wedge
Pour the gin, grapefruit juice, and club soda in a glass over ice and stir. Squeeze the lime wedge into the drink.
Note: If you are on medication that contraindicates grapefruit or grapefruit juice, simply swap in 100% orange juice instead.

    POMEGRANATE-CHAMPAGNE PUNCH

    Fixate Holiday Punch

    Serves 12 
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup honey 
  • 2 750-ml bottles chilled brut Champagne
  • 1 1/2 cups white rum
  • 1 1/4 cups pomegranate juice
  • 1 large lemon, thinly sliced
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • ice block


    1. Bring 1/2 Cup Honey with 1/2 cup water to boil in small saucepan. Stirring until it disolves. Simmer 5 minutes. Cool Syrup completely.
    2. Combine Champagne, rum, and pomegranate juice in punch bowl. Add enough syrup to sweeten to taste. Mix in lemon slices, pomegranate seeds, and mint leaves. Add ice block to bowl.

Among the many possible, regrettable consequences of drinking too much, forgetting (or ignoring) your usual reasons for making smart food choices takes the cake.  Be sparing with alcohol.  If possible, try to limit yourself to one cocktail; if not possible, drink a glass of water or club soda between each cocktail.  This will prevent the full extent of that red-nosed feeling from hitting you suddenly—at which point, your diet manual may as well be burned.  If you’re worried about the impression you’ll make by wandering around the party empty-handed, grab a club soda with a lime or lemon wedge (no one will know!).  

When it comes to skinny sippers, enjoy a glass of wine, champagne, or light beer—each under 150 calories.  Alternatively, if you’re up for a low-cal cocktail, here’s the definitive recipe:  one shot of clear liquor (like vodka, tequila, or gin), unlimited seltzer water, and a splash of 100% juice (like cranberry or grapefruit).  

Have fun, stay focused, and don’t use your buzz as an excuse to stop by the pizza parlor on your way home. :)

Chili Spiced Chicken Salad

With this Recovery from my ACL surgery my focus has been on FOOD!! Can You tell! :) 
I am setting up new meal plans and making an effort to put clean foods only in my mouth!! 
I love the New Hammer and Chisel meal plan! Ir falls in line with the 21 Day fix but higher in protein! 
I can't wait to tackle this workout!! 
But in the meantime I baby step toward my goals and focus on the food and sharing that here with you since that is what I do best!! 
Chili Spiced Chicken Salad, Sara Stakeley, Hammer and Chisel



CHILI SPICED CHICKEN SALAD

Ingredients: 
3 Tbsp. low-fat (1%) Greek Yogurt
2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
1 tsp. ground chili powder
1 tsp. raw honey
3 cups chopped grilled chicken breast, 
    boneless,skinless
1/2 medium red onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
8 large Boston (or Bibb) lettuce leaves
2 cups fresh baby spinach


Directions:
1.Combine yogurt,lime juice,chili powder, and honey in a small bowl;
wish to blend.Set aside; this will be your 
dressing.

2.Combine chicken,onion,pumpkin seeds,and dressing;toss gently to blend.

3.Top four serving plates each with two lettuce leaves. Top evenly with spinach and chicken salad; serve immediately.

Makes 4 servings( about 1/2 cups each)
Total time 15 min
Prep time 15 min
Cooking time none

Containers: 1 red
                     1 green
                     1 Orange

Depression and Managing Your Recovery after surgery


So have been doing my research and there doesn't seem to be much information out there on depression and what to expect after surgery. Now don't get me wrong I try to keep things upbeat lighthearted and motivational but, I am human too and when I did my 

research I didn't see much out there on the subject so I thought I would tackle it.

When I came home the day of my surgery I was told to rest take my medication and follow my orders from my doctor.  However, I wasn't told was that I was going to need to pee in a pot because I couldn't make it to the bathroom! I was crazy, annoying, and nasty to be around!! I was just plain miserable. 


Now flash ahead here we are three weeks and I will tell you that the struggle is real!!!
I'm stuck at home learning to walk again, I basically hang out my PJ's and I believe now that showers are overrated and it's really difficult to wash your hair.



I feel unpretty, I feel disgusting, I feel tired all the time. I feel swollen bloated and like a lump of shit in my permanent indentation on the couch. 

It's really hard to feel sexy with crutches, sweat pants. and crusty hair.
You get the PICTURE!! 
When I do take a shower and exhaust me, I really just don't feel like myself at all.

So I was talking to my life coach therapist about this yesterday and he said it's a pretty common thing! And I cried a little after he said that.... I'm NOT going MAD i am Normal!! 
 It's common for people to feel not like themselves, it's common for people to be a little bit depressed after having surgery. Life still goes on around you so  it's common  to feel unworthy of help, or have a hard time, or just get exhausted by always asking for someone to get you something you have stared at ALL DAY!! 


It's a whole new routine and each day is something different, recently I went to my doctors after being prescribed for Percocet for the last three months since I injured my knee September 18th, 2015 and I was having flu like symptoms....with a fever. 
So I called the doctor and found out that I am actually 
going through withdrawal symptoms from the medication.

GREAT!! Now I am a Junkie Gimp!! 


Post ACL Surgery


I was prescribed all the medication I am taking and  It's crazy to me to think that on top of everything that I have going on,now have to deal with this over the next few days. 

It makes me want to question my doctors even more in the future. I'm not saying what they do is  wrong, and I'm not saying prescriptions are wrong when they are necessary. Trust Me They were needed, but why was and I forewarned of this. 

I'm thankful that I know myself and I'm thankful that I'm in a place where I know my health or I may not of even known what was going on. Having a bad day is one thing but having a bad day and feeling like you can't get out of bed is another. It's a mental game and the struggle is real  I know eventually this will be a thing of the past but for right now.... I am OVER IT!! 


I just want to speak openly and honestly on the subject.
I don't want to scare you but make you prepared.

What you need at home after surgery


If you've recently had something tragic happened in your life, a surgery, a loss, loss of job?  So many  things the list could go on and on. Knowing that you're depressed and taking the steps to move forward possibly by talking to someone or diving into a good book and  just motivating yourself to be strong it's so important!!!
 I can see where people could fall into that trap of the Dark side when you have a lot going on it's hard to focus on just your recovery and where you come from when you have 
so much further to go.


Just know that you're not alone. Know that I and someone else out 
there are feeling exactly the way you do right now.


This too shall pass

My saving grace has been being able to work from home! Feeling success is important to me and I love being able to give more of my time during this! 

Remember you have to have bad days to really appreciate the good!! 
Allow yourself to have a bad day... you are human, then switch gears and focus on how you are going to COME BACK! :)

As a Beachbody coach I have the privilege to help many people transform their own bodies with my challenge groups.  I absolutely love nothing more than seeing my customers testimonials in the group every day!  I know that I am exactly where I am supposed to be because every day I wake up really excited about helping my challengers get the best results possible.  As a result of my focus always being on helping people I have been greatly rewarded financially.  It was definitely a great start for me as a coach, but over the past 4 years my focus has been on how to create a quick start system for my new coaches to have success right away.  It's worked wonders for my team and I have new coaches that are doing what took me 9 months in 2-3 months!

I was sitting at home the other night thinking about the quickly approaching holiday season and I realized that 4 years ago I made a goal for myself to pay for our entire Christmas with the money that I made from Beachbody.

Brian was game but sceptical, but I set out to make that goal a reality. I did it by empowering people during the holiday season to make healthier choices, by providing support and accountability to my customers, family and friends.

I truly want to Pay It Forward and teach you specifically how to do it!
